Background: A North Queensland mining customer had previously sourced a fastener from an alternate supplier. When they went to reorder the product, it had been discontinued. A number of suppliers, including Konnect Fastening Systems Mount Isa were brought in to resolve the problem through a suitable substitute product.

The Goal:
- Offer an alternate product with ongoing supply.

The Approach:
- Utilising the groups strong manufacturing connections, the team at Mount Isa designed a product that met all specifications for the application. They took a collaborative approach, supplying the customer with 2 different prototypes for testing and approval.

The Results:
- The final Konnect Rock Bolt Pin met all specifications and is now being used across a number of applications
- The collaborative approach streamlined the process, minimising costs and downtime
- The new product has already been rolled out to other local mine sites
